According to bio., Benjamin Franklin is best known for being one of the Founding Fathers that drafted and signed the Constitution of the United States as well as the Declaration of Independence ("Benjamin Franklin Biography"). Franklin was born in Massachusetts on January 17, 1706 ("Benjamin Franklin Biography"). He was the tenth son out of 17 siblings. He attended school at Boston Latin school but was taken out at the age of 10 because of work. In late 1727 Benjamin formed what is called a junto which is a social study group ("Benjamin Franklin Biography"). He was very fascinated by the world he lived in. When he was 12 he worked as an assistant in his brothers shop. From the beginning Franklin has made numerous contributions to the United States. He began his contributions by organizing the first library and fire department.He also made contributions to the mathematics and scientific fields.

Benjamin Franklin influenced modern day America in many ways. His inventions lead to new ideas and opened new doors to certain things. Benjamin wasn't well educated with only three years of schooling he mostly taught himself everything he knew. He created the Largest private library which helped expand science and more inventions. He created spectacles which we still use but we upgraded them a lot. He also changed how we studied lighting in his famous experiment with the lightning rod. Benjamin also made the time of mail quicker by cutting the delivery time in half, which influenced mail delivery in present day America. He contributed most to the Continental Congress which if it wasn't for his contribution we would still be under British rule. Benjamin made an object we still use which is the stove which was a big advance in efficiency of heat. All these things had an impact on modern day america in a big way.
