Franklins Most important INVENTIONS
Many of the inventions that Benjamin Franklin invented are used today in our everyday lives. Some of his key inventions that are used regularly today are shown below. Without some of these inventions, things would be harder. Overall, his inventions not only played roles in people lives then, but they still do today.

Due to Franklin's vision condition, presbyopia, he created bifocals. They are eyeglasses that have a upper and lower half ("Benjamin Franklin's Inventions..."). The lower half was reading and the upper part is distance ("Benjamin Franklin's Inventions..."). The invention was key in the 1780s for people who also had this condition.

Franklin's creation of the lightning rod was use to made to protect homes during dangerous lightning storms ("Benjamin Franklin's Inventions..."). The lightning rod was attached to the top of buildings and if lightning struck the rod the charge would hit the ground.
